Since September 2011, Simon Wiederhold is working as an economist at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, Department of Human Capital and Innovation.
Before joining the Ifo Institute, he was working as scientific coordinator of the Graduate College "The Economics of Innovative Change," jointly hosted by the University of Jena and the Max Planck Institute of Economics, Jena. Simon also received his PhD from the University of Jena.
His main research interests are the economics of innovation, skill-biased technological change and behavioral economics. The topic of his doctoral thesis is "The Role of Public Procurement in Innovation: Theory and Empirical Evidence." Early in 2011, he spent three months on a research visit at Duke University in Durham.
