Milan Terek is a full professor at the Department of Statistics at the Faculty of Economic Informatics at the University of Economics in Bratislava and at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the School of Management in Trenčín – City University of Seattle. In the period 1977 – 1987, he was the member of the Department of Economic Mathematic Methods at the University of Economics in Bratislava. He taught the following courses: Linear programming, Nonlinear Programming, Operations Research and System Modeling. Now he teaches Statistics, Statistical Quality Control, Data Mining and Decision Analysis in Master studies programs, and Data Mining and Survey Sampling in Doctoral studies at the University of Economics. He also teaches the courses Interpretation of Statistics and Data and Decision Processes at the School of Management in Trenčín.
He is a member of the International Technical Committee ISO/TC 69 Applications of Statistical Methods, a member of the Slovak Technical Standardization Committee – Application of Statistical methods, a member of the Editorial Board of the Portuguese Journal of Quantitative Methods, a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Latest Trends in Finance and Economic Sciences (Portugal), a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Statistika (Economy and Statistics Journal, Prague, Czech republic), head of the committee for study development in the area of Quantitative Methods in Economics at the university of Economics in Bratislava, a member of the Slovak Evaluation Research Committee VEGA in the area: Economics and Laws, and a member of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Economic Informatics of University of Economics in Bratislava.
He was coordinator of one international and many national research projects. Milan` s research interests include Data Mining with application into all areas of economy, Statistical Quality Control and its using in Six Sigma strategy, in the production and service areas, Survey Sampling with application into all areas of economy and Decision Analysis with application into all areas of economy.
