Martina Lubyova is Senior Lecturer in Social Statistics and Sampling Surveys at Economics University in Bratislava, Associated Fellow at CERGE EI in Prague and Research Fellow at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Martina holds a PhD in Economics from the University of the State of New York and CERGE-EI in Prague, a PhD in Statistics from the Economics University in Bratislava, a Doctor of Law and a M.Sc. in Biophysics from Comenius University in Bratislava.
Martina’s research interests include institutional economics, labour economics and social affairs, empirical sampling surveys in the field of social affairs (assessment of skills needs, life long learning, international labour migration). She has been publishing in the mentioned fields. She also engaged in the development of distance learning and competency based modular training systems in the CIS countries, in cooperation with the ILO International Training Centre in Turin.
Prior to taking up her current position, Martina worked as Director of the ILO Sub-regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in Moscow, as Employment Specialist in Moscow, and as Employment Development Specialist in the ILO Multidisciplinary Team for South Asia in New Delhi. Previously she held several research and teaching positions at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Czech Academy Sciences, OECD DEELSA and Charles University in Prague.
