Marcella Milana is Associate professor in adult education, co-convenor of the research network on Policy Studies in Adult Education (under the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults), and national coordinator of the European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management.
Marcella studied Educational Sciences at the University of Rome Three, Italy, were she also earned a PhD in Innovation and Evaluation of Educational Systems, exploring Problem Solving in Everyday Life and ways of assessing it.
Her research interests include adult and lifelong learning policy, formal and non-formal learning practice, and competence development. She examines how public policy frames adult learning, and studies the factors that support or hamper participation in formal and non-formal education and learning opportunities among adults. Marcella is currently part of the National Centre for Competence Development, based at the Department of Education, Aarhus University.
