Arne Jonas Warnke is a researcher at the department Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy at the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim, Germany.
Arne studied Economics and Mathematics at Karlsruhe University (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT). Subsequently, he worked for different national and international research-related institutions, including the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF), Lisbon Council, OECD, and Zeppelin University. At Zeppelin University, besides contributing to research projects, Arne also worked on consultancy projects for internationally operating manufacturing firms and financial institutions.
His research interests focus on the Economics of Education, Labour Economics and Personnel Economics. Arne is particularly interested in the process of acquirement and depreciation of cognitive and non-cognitive skills, the relationship between skills and social outcomes such as earnings and employment, and measures to prevent skill obsolescence. In this field Arne co-authored (withRichard Desjardins) the OECD Education Working Paper "Ageing and Skills: A Review and Analysis of Skill Gain and Skill Loss Over the Lifespan and Over Time".
