Dr. Haizheng Li received his Ph. D in Economics from the University of Colorado-Boulder. He is Professor at the School of Economics, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the special-term professor of the China Center for Human Capital and Labor Market Research (CHLR) at the Central University of Economics and Finance in Beijing, China, an international research center on human capital studies.
A specialist in applied econometrics, labor economics, industry studies and Chinese economy, he has authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and technical reports. He leads a large project on Chinese human capital and publishes the annual China Human Capital Report. He has received numerous grants from the Sloan Foundation Industry Center, EU, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese government ministries, and Chinese universities. His teaching includes graduate and undergraduate econometrics, economic forecasting, labor economics, microeconomics and Chinese economy.
He has served as a member of the Advisory Board of China Economic Review, as President of the Chinese Economists Society (2006-07), as consultant for the World Bank, as panelist for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and as Special Research Fellow of Shanghai Development & Reform Commission in China. He also holds numerous special-term professor positions at universities in China.
At Georgia Tech, Haizheng served as Co-director of Georgia Tech-Shanghai Summer Program (2005-07), Director of Information Technology in the School of Economics (2004-09), Academic Senate and General Faculty Assembly Representative (2008-11).
